I do have other First Editions which I will add to this list from time to time.  There are titles to suit every taste, and they would make good affordable presents.  I think my favourite would be King Solomon's Mines which I read when I was a teenager, and Snow, which I read this year - Orhan Pamuk writes with such poetry and feeling that it even shines through in translation, and of course that is why he is considered one of this century's greatest writers, world-wide, and was given the Nobel Prize for Literature.  Not all my First Editions are listed on these two pages, and you may find some when looking in the  Business books and Non-Fiction sections, and scattered through other pages.

Please add £2.69 for post and packing for UK, £3.50 to Europe. £5.75 worldwide  or contact me to ask about a discount and the postage cost if buying more than one item.

*Orhan Pamuk - Snow  (Translated by Maureen Freely). First appearance of this title in UK.  The author's fifth book, destined to become a 21st Century classic. Published to enormous critical and popular acclaim as a softcover original.  A scarce hardcover edition was subsequently issued and there is also an American Edition. Pamuk's books are censored and often banned in his native Turkey, a culture which has to strike a delicate balance between radical Islam and Western secularism.  This is a political and yet poetical novel exploring the clash between the two ideologies through the eyes of a fictional poet who was holed-up for a few days in a small town whilst it was snowbound. The thread of a love story runs through the revolutionary events taking place, and for Westerners it gives great insight into what it is like to live in modern Turkey and their stormy relationship with the Kurds .  In 2006 Pamuk won the Nobel Prize for Literature and he is one of the greatest living writers.
