And, not only that, here is an up-to-the minute news story: Vince Hagedorn a pilot whose light two-seater aircraft crashed into a tree on a Dundee golf course in mid-August 2009 has attributed his lucky escape to his love of the "Biggles" adventure stories. He said that in one of the books Biggles was shot up and used the joy stick to pancake his aircraft into a crash landing. Remembering this, Vince used the same technique to flatten the landing and pancake into the top of some trees lining the golf course, where the the plane settled and he just waited to be rescued.
